Police seek witnesses to 'dramatic incident' in Brook Green area

The police have issued CCTV stills of two men they wish to speak to in connection with a stabbing that took place in Hammersmith earlier this year.

In what they are describing as a ‘dramatic incident’ a large amount of cash was strewn across the road during a struggle between the victim and the two men pictured.

At around 8:10pm on Saturday, 1 August at the junction of Wolverton Gardens and Hammersmith Road, in the area of Brook Green, the victim, a 30-year-old man, pulled up in a car.

It is believed that the two men now being sought had been travelling with him.

He left the vehicle and got into another car that was parked on a side road directly opposite. One of the suspect followed him and got into the same car.

An altercation then took place in which the suspect was apparently pushed from the car, which was then driven off with the victim still inside. A substantial sum of money was dispersed from the vehicle into the road. The vehicle was then reversed at the suspect, who managed to dodge it.
It stopped a short time later and the victim got out.

The second suspect who had remained in the first car got out and joined his associate in chasing after the other man who was caught and stabbed multiple times.

Both suspects then ran back to the first vehicle parked on Wolverton Gardens and made off down the wrong way of the one way street.

The man who was stabbed managed to get himself to hospital and was later discharged.

Detective Constable Emily Martin said, "While I appreciate the images are not of the clearest quality, I am sure there were people who would have seen this dramatic incident unfold on that evening. The victim was incredibly lucky that his injuries were not far more serious.

"I urge anyone who may have been in the vicinity of the incident to please contact us. Look carefully at the images and contact us immediately if you recognise the two men pictured."
