A gang of youths on bikes failed in an attempt to rob a young woman after one of the group decided she was 'too pretty'.
The 17 year old female was walking along Crisp Road at around 18.40 on 29th January. As she passed the 'Odd One Out’ pub the gang circled her on bicycles. One of them said ‘That’s a nice bag’, and the other said ‘Give me your bag’. She refused, and tried to keep walking but one of the youths grabbed her shoulder bag. She refused to give up the bag and during the struggle one of the group ‘Leave it, leave it, she’s too pretty’. The gang then all cycled off, back towards Queen Caroline Street empty handed.
They were all black males aged around 17 year old. The one that had complimented the woman was described as wearing a grey hoody, black baseball cap with white 'New Era' logo on peak. A second member of the group was wearing black tracksuit top and black tracksuit pants. The others are believed to have been wearing hoodies.
