Police say incident may be linked to a previous crime
A 65-year old man was robbed of the rings on his fingers and left covered with blood after being robbed near Mortimer House in Queensdale Crescent.
The attack happened at some time between 11.15pm and quarter past midnight on June 3 and 4.
The man had just walked home an elderly woman neighbour to a nearby address before heading to Mortimer House.
The last thing he remembers before the attack is walking past The Favourite pub in St Ann's Road.
His next memory was arriving at home covered in blood and missing six rings from his fingers.
He needed hospital treatment for a head injury and several stitches.
Police are appealing for any witnesses who may have seen the man followed home.
CCTV footage from the area is also being examined.
Police suspect this robbery may be linked to a similar incident which took place on February 21 at around the same time.
A man was followed from a nearby pub and mugged just outside Mortimer House in a similar attack.
