Scheme enables organisations to maximise morale and impress future funders
Local voluntary organisations are being given the chance to maximise staff morale and impress future funders thanks to a new £120,000 human resources advice service being run by the Hammersmith & Fulham Volunteer Centre (VC).
Organisations in Hammersmith & Fulham will be able to use the service to brush up their management skills and learn the very latest on employment legislation, free of charge, so that they can meet nationally recognised quality standards and raise their profile as good employers.
The scheme, which is being funded by the City of London's City Bridge Trust, will provide local groups with training and one-to-one guidance, boosting their confidence about managing their staff and allowing them to meet the increasingly demanding requirements of funding bodies. The Volunteer Centre will advise the groups on the best quality standards programmes available and support them as they seek to attain their quality assurance marks.
Marion Schumann, director of the HFVC, says, "We're absolutely delighted that we can offer this new human resources advice service to local voluntary organisations. These groups do an incredible amount of good work in our local communities, but often don't have the time and resources to keep up to speed with the latest HR policies and procedures. Our new advice service will not only allow them to get the most from their staff - and avoid any costly employment tribunal claims - but will give them the best possible chance of showing funders that they can manage their organisation effectively and spend money wisely."
