Ribbon Cutting Ceremony Marks 10 Hammersmith Grove's Completion

Drinks giant Pernod Ricard set to pay "record rent" as building's first occupiers

 

A ribbon ceremony will take place on Monday, July 1 to celebrate the completion of Hammersmith's newest office building, 10 Hammersmith Grove.

The event comes as the building is reported to be poised to achieve a record rent of £47 a square foot with drinks giant Pernod Ricard under offer to become to the first tenant, taking 40,000 square feet of office space.

On Monday, the company behind the scheme, Development Securities will be joined for the ribbon cutting by Sir Edward Lister, the Mayor's Chief of Staff and Deputy Mayor, Policy and Planning, and Nicolas Botterill, Leader of Hammersmith and Fulham Council.

10 Hammersmith Grove is on the site of the former NCP car park next to the Hammersmith and City Line station and opposite Lyric Square, and is the first new office building to be built in Hammersmith in a decade. A second building will follow.

Work began on the building in November 2011 and at a traditional "topping out" ceremony a year later in November 2012, Council Leader Nick Botterill said the the speed at which the building had gone up was "remarkable" and that it was an exciting and important addition to Hammersmith’s economy and community.

As well as new office space, the building offers new public open space and promises new restaurants with lots of outdoor seating.
