Judy Murray Drops into Queen's Club for Special Training Session

Tennis' most famous mum teams up with children from St Stephen's School

Tennis' most famous mum, Judy Murray teamed up with children from St Stephen’s Primary School in Uxbridge Road, Shepherd's Bush for a very special training session.

Judy, who is of course the mother of superstar Andy dropped into the borough for a day of coaching, organised by The Queen’s Club Foundation.

Judy visited The Queen’s Club in Barons Court on Tuesday 26 September where she ran a special session to train coaches with fun games to play to bring out the best in young players.

And the children thoroughly enjoyed being part of the training.

Judy’s day involvement follows a summer of activities H&F Council has hosted alongside The Queen’s Club and the Lawn Tennis Association (LTA) as part of a drive to increase participation in the sport.

H&F Council says it is determined to help children lead healthier, more active lifestyles and sports like tennis are great in allowing children to have fun, while keeping active.

As part of the campaign, the courts in Normand Park, Fulham, have been refurbished, with those in Ravenscourt Park also in line for a revamp. The renovations will mean children and adults from all over the borough will now have access to high quality playing facilities.

"Those improved courts are a real boost to the fantastic leisure facilities on offer in the borough," says Cllr Wesley Harcourt, H&F Cabinet Member for Environment, Transport and Residents’ Services.

You can find out about tennis and other sports facilities on the council's website.
