Lily Bridge House sells for £18,000,000
May saw the most expensive residential property sale ever in the SW6 post code area with a house on Seagrave Road going for £18,000,000.
Lily Bridge House, next to London Oratory School, was described by the agent as "a stunning country home right in the heart of south-west London spectacularly positioned in two thirds of an acre of garden."
The "vast" house, with separate staff quarters and a long private driveway, comprises seven bedrooms, four reception rooms, eight bathrooms and extensive parking all contributing to an unparalleled entertaining space.
There were 83 other sales during the month and even if you excluded the Seagrave Road sale the average price was over £1,000,000 suggesting that home values are close or above record levels currently.

The average price in London during the month of May was £439,719 which is up by 18.5% compared with the same month in 2013. For England and Wales as a whole the average is now £172,035 compared with the peak of £181,383 in November 2007 up by 6.7%.
The most up-to-date figures available show that during June 2014 the number of completed house sales in England & Wales increased by 11 per cent to 73,158 compared with 66,123 in June 2013.
The number of properties sold in England and Wales for over £1 million in March 2014 increased by 28 per cent to 840 from 657 in March 2013.
