Rude Health Cafe Opens on New King's Road

Serving healthy meals and promising talks and workshops on nutrition

The Rude Health Cafe has opened its doors at 212 New King's Road, serving its own range of cereals and non-dairy milks at breakfast time, plus healthy soups, salads, sandwiches using freshly baked breads, pastries and cakes throughout the day.

Also on the menu are fresh juices and coffee from Caravan Coffee Roasters.

The cafe, close to the junction with Fulham High Street and Putney Bridge Station, has indoor and outdoor seating for 20 people, and is planning a range of community events. Its first event, a summer evening run along the river on Monday July 25 has proved so popular that all places have been snapped up.

Coming soon are talks and workshops on nutrition and healthy eating, including a night of stand-up with Instagram comedian Deliciously Stella, who pokes fun at the ‘clean eating’ trend that is sweeping social media, as well as preserving, fermenting and pickling master classes.

Later in the year, it will host the London Porridge Championships, seeing breakfast fans from the around the capital devise creative recipes in a competition to be crowned champion.

Camilla Barnard, who co-founded the company with her husband Nick and two friends back in 2005, says: " We are taking the same principles we work to with our cereals and applying them to everything we serve — food that is well-sourced, nutrient-rich and leaves you feeling good, as well as being delicious."

The Rude Health Cafe is open from 7.30am to 4pm on weekdays and from 8am on weekends, when a healthy brunch is on offer.
