New Restaurants Spring Up on Fulham's North End Road

Including menus from Italy, Mexico and America's Deep South

At the foot of the road, by St John's Church, the site created by the redevelopment of Fulham's famous Victorian loos, the Walham Green Toilets, is finally about to open to customers after sitting empty for over four years.

2 Vanston Place in Fulham

The building, which has the official address 2 Vanston Place is set to become an Italian restaurant called Rossodisera, run by a company called Sibilla Foods, who already have a restaurant of the same name in Covent Garden.

The three floor restaurant, serving customers in the basement and ground floor and on the first floor terrace has been granted a licence to permit the sale of alcohol on the premises Monday to Sunday 10am until 11pm. Hours open to the public Monday to Sunday 10am to 11.30pm.

The application says: "The applicant proposes an Italian Pizzeria Restaurant to provide a range of authentic central Italian style pizzas and other Italian food dishes with alcohol served to complement the provision of table meals."

You can find full details of the application here.

When it launches, Rossodisera will be joining other newcomers serving a wide range of cuisines. At the southern end of the road, Stagolee's Hot Chicken and Liquor Joint promises authentic American Deep South flavours, with hearty, comfort food from Texas and Tennessee and a range of American beers, bourbon and Kentucky Moonshine.

At 352 Fulham Road, Flamino's   specialises in burgers and BBQ, along with Mexican favourites including burritos, tacos and quesadillas, dips, salads and desserts.

Rigatoni, at 308 - 310 North End Road - the site formerly home to the Barrow Boy pub, describes itself as a typical Italian Restaurant, serving a traditional menu with pasta, meat or fish main courses or homemade pizza.

However, the new restaurant, which proved highly popular at last week's Spring Market, also offers a cocktail bar and music club and as the owners, who come from the Spanish island of Formentera, put it: " Rigatoni London has the purpose of bringing the Italian parties atmosphere in the heart of London. That’s why twice a week we have live shows with amazing artists."

These restaurant will also join other popular  recent arrivals on the other side of North End Road - Cafe Ole, Korean restaurant Simya and PickyWops, a pizzeria offering a selection of unusual alternative bases, such as hemp, spirulina and turmeric.
