Redevelopment of Hurlingham Pub Set to Begin Within Months

After council approves management plan for building of flats above electrical store

The redevelopment of the former Hurlingham pub on Wandsworth Bridge Road looks set to begin within months, after H&F Council gave its approval to a Demolition and Construction Management Plan.

The plan envisages demolition lasting 11 weeks followed by construction lasting 82 weeks to transform the building, at 360 Wandsworth Bridge Road just north of the bridge, into seven new flats above an electrical store.

An application by a company called City Electrical Factors to create the flats on the first toi third floors above the company's own electrical wholesale store was approved in August 2017.

The planning application was as follows:

Erection of a part three, part four storey building following partial demolition of the existing building, incorporating retained facades to Carnwath Road and Wandsworth Bridge Road and consisting of retail at ground floor level (Class A1) and 7 flats above (Class C3) with roof terrace at third floor level and alterations to shopfronts in retained facades.

A separate application, containing details of external materials to be used in the redevelopment, is currently under consideration by the council.

The Hurlingham is one of a long list of local pubs to be closed and redeveloped in recent years.
