Brook House to open on site of former Eel Brook pub opposite Eel Brook Common
A new pub is set to launch in February at 65 New Kings Road, opposite the south side of Eel Brook Common.
The pub, which has been named Brook House, will be run by Mark Dyer and Eamonn Manson, the duo who already achieved success with other local pubs, The Sands End in Stephendale Road, The Brown Cow in Fulham Road and The Crosskeys in Chelsea's Lawrence Street.
Local property developers Marston Properties purchased the building containing the pub, which was formerly called The Eel Brook and before that The Southern Cross, from pub giant Greene King in January 2016.
The company intended to retain a pub while creating six flats for rent within the upper floors, which had been home to local theatre company London Theatre Workshop.
However, with restrictions preventing a new pub operator moving in for at least six months, Marstons invited 'pop-up' food operator Petite Terre to take over the premises for a year until they were ready to start redeveloping the building in May last year.
Just under 16 months later, all six flats are occupied and the fit out at Brook House beginning soon.
The pub already has a website, where Eamonn and Mark Dyer - the former equerry to Prince Charles who has been nicknamed Prince Harry's 'second father' - say: " We’ve been bringing gastropubs to the Fulham & Chelsea markets for a few years now because it's what we know and what we are passionate about.

"We have previously created pubs to act as hang-outs for all walks of life, both local residents and visitors alike, and Brook House is only different in respect to its ambience & décor.
"It was only a matter of time, following the sale of our previous pubs, before we were on the look out for a new site, and 65 New Kings Road hit both of our sweet spots. With the healthy mix of restaurant, pub and bar, Brook House is, we feel, a venue Fulham needs. Rustic, relaxed and welcoming to all."
The duo's previous three pubs were sold to luxury pub group Cirrus Inns for £11.7 million in spring 2017.
Caroline Marston, the Managing Director of Marstons and local resident, says,"Marstons did not want to see another Fulham pub lost so decided the best way to ensure its future was to buy it.
"Given there are three pubs nearby that have been lost since we started our project, we are delighted to be bringing forward the plans for Brook House, which we hope will become a much cherished neighbourhood pub for present and future Fulham residents."
