Take a Free Festive Trip on a 1950s Vintage Bus


Local people invited to hop onboard along route 430 on Christmas morning

There may not be any normal public transport available on Christmas Day, but free trips will be on offer aboard a 1950s vintage RT bus running along route 430.

The bus, staffed by volunteers, will run from South Kensington to Roehampton and back, taking in Fulham's Lillie Road between West Brompton to Fulham Palace Road.

The man behind this festive service is Richard Shirley, owner of 1950s Vintage Bus Hire.

Richard, who grew up in Fulham, says: "My friends and I will be providing a free vintage bus service on route 430 between Roehampton and Putney Bridge. We're doing this for fun, goodwill, and to promote our vintage bus hire".

As you can see from the timetable below,  the bus service will be hourly. running from Roehampton to South Kensington at 9.30am, 10.30am and 11.30am and returning from South Kensington at 10.40am , 11.40am and 12.40pm. It will then continue in the afternoon between Putney Bridge and Roehampton.

It will stop to let people on and off at any bus stop along route 430.

Richard is inviting local residents to join the fun and hop onboard, saying: "Do come out and visit a pub, church, friends and family, enjoy a walk by the river or in Richmond Park, or just bring the children for a ride.

" It's Christmas Day and the journey’s on us!"
