Woman Pronounced Dead at Scene in Fulham Broadway Station |
Transport police say death being treated as "non-suspicious" It has been confirmed that the passenger who fell or jumped under a train at Fulham Broadway this morning was a woman. Emergency services rushed to the station during the morning rush hour, but the woman was pronounced dead at the scene. A British Transport Police spokesperson says: " Officers were called to Fulham Broadway London Underground Station on Wednesday, July 17 after reports a woman was struck by an eastbound District Line train. "Officers from the Met police, London Fire Brigade and London Ambulance attended the incident which was reported to BTP at 8.34 and is being treated as non suspicious. A woman was pronounced dead at the scene. A file has been prepared for the coroner." The District Line was suspended following the incident. It has now reopened, but TfL warns lines and platforms may still be busy. The horrific incident was witnessed by dozens of shocked onlookers, many of whom reported on Twitter seeing a person jump or fall and the emergency services arriving.
