Disney's newest star tells us why she loves SW6

Fulham resident Samantha Pearl is the newest face of Disney. Samantha, 24 has been chosen to present What Shall We Do Today, a daily show for pre-schoolers backed up with online fun and games from Playhouse Disney.

Sam moved to Fulham last summer after graduating from The Oxford School of Drama. She took time out from her busy TV schedule to tell us why she loves living in SW6.

" I had visited Fulham a lot while I was a student because my older older brother Matthew, who is a photographer and sister Abigail, who is in advertising were already living here.

" I love going to see shows and it's easy to get to so many theatres from Fulham, such as The Lyric in Hammersmith and the Finborough Theatre in Finborough Road, which has a really nice buzz.

" So when I joined Disney and came to London I decided to move into the Fulham family home. It's great because it's like being at home, only without Mum and Dad supervising.

" Fulham is a great place at night, we love to hop from pub to pub in North End Road, and I have had some great fun evenings in Belushi's bar on the Broadway.

" My favourite cafe is probably Caffe Nero on the Broadway, where you can site outside and watch the world go by, and though I like lots of different restaurants my favourite has to be the Blue Elephant. It is so beautiful inside and the food is fabulous.

" Keeping up with the kids for my job keeps me pretty fit but I do exercise as well. My sister belongs to the Nuffield gym down by the river, and I will join her if it's a rainy day, but really I'm an outdoor kind of girl and I prefer to run on Eel Brook Common, in Brompton Cemetery or along the Thames river path. I love the fact that we are so close to the river.

" I also go dancing at the Dance Attic on North End Road. So far I have taken conventional classes like jazz and ballet but I fancy trying something a bit wilder like flamenco or belly dancing.

" Most of all I love just walking around in Fulham, especially North End Road on Saturdays. There are great secondhand shops to poke around in and I can't resist those £1 bowls of fruit in the market.

"  I always feel safe in Fulham. It's the first place I have lived in London, and it's just a great area to start off in. It's so easy to find your way around and get to to other places and there is always lots going on."
