This site also includes nine two bedroom apartments built above the store. The Riverton Apartments are now for sale through estate agent Hamptons, priced around £730,000.

Sainsbury's has also submitted a licence application for the superstore which will be at the heart of the Fulham Wharf development on Townmead Road, and this application is now open for consultation. Local residents are invited to comment on the application on the H&F Council website.

A spokesman for the supermarket says an announcement will be made in the next few weeks about recruitment and an opening date for the new superstore, which will replace the current smaller supermarket on the riverside site.
