6,000 free tickets to be given to local people
Polo in the Park is coming back to Hurlingham Park this summer, with 6,000 free tickets on offer to local people.
The organisers say that following the sell out success of the inaugural event in 2009, Polo in the Park London is returning for three days, from June 4 to 6.
Polo in the Park is played under World Polo Series rules, which include a number of enhancements to make the posh people's game faster, even more exciting and easier to understand
At Fulham's Hurlingham Park, eight teams representing various global cities will compete over the three days of the tournament, which will culminate with the Final and the presentation of The World Polo Series Trophy on Sunday 6th June. There will also be a number of exhibition games on Sunday, including Oxford v Cambridge and an Australia v South Africa invitational match.
The park will be transformed for the event, with a grandstand for spectators and hospitality village which includes upmarket shops, bars and a champagne garden. Doors are open daily from 11am till 8pm with entertainment on offer throughout.
Last year's Polo in the Park was initially controversial among local residents, but the event proved a success, with the organisers saying over 25,000 people turned up.One popular move with local people was to offer free entry on Sunday, which was designated a community day. This year, say organisers, the free tickets will be split, with 2,000 made available each day. They will be distributed through a ballot organised by Hammersmith and Fulham Council.
Tickets for Polo in the Park can cost anything up to £415 including hospitality at the adjacent Hurlingham Club. However ground tickets for spectators are now available, with special earlybird deals making prices as low as £12.50.

The grand official launch of Polo in the Park 2010 will be on March 3, when horses and riders will be parading through the streets of Fulham.
