Summer Break for Fulham High Street Pizzeria Pappa Ciccia

While Thames Water carries out major works under pavement outside

Popular Fulham High Street pizzeria-trattoria Pappa Ciccia has temporarily closed for refurbishments while Thames Water excavates the pavement outside.

The restaurant is one of three owned by Tino and Shelly Mereu, who have lived in Fulham for 24 yeajrs.

They say, " After many years of flooding on Fulham High Street, Thames water finally started major works to repair very old drains and sewers.

" So we are using this as an opportunity to refresh and renovate during the summer break, ready for a new look in September."

They add that they expect to be shut for four to six weeks, adding that in the meantime you can book a table or order a delivery from their branch in Munster Road.

There is also a third branch in Putney's Lower Richmond Road, which is primarily a takeaway but goes have some tables outside.

The trio have received a consistent thumbs up from restaurant guide Harden's, with its summary for 2019 saying: " Good, generous-sized pizzas", and a "lively" and "cheerful" atmosphere keep business ticking over at this family-owned local trio in Fulham and Putney. They are "excellent value", too, helped by BYO on beer and wine at a flat £4.50 per head.
