Stars James Norton and Robson Green film scene by Eel Brook Common
A street in Fulham stepped back over 60 years in time this week complete with vintage cars, costumes and even a pop-up period lamppost, for the filming of an episode of the ITV series Grantchester.
The show, which is now in its third series, features Anglican vicar Sidney Chambers, played by James Norton and his sleuthing sidekick, Detective Inspector Geordie Keating, played by Robson Green. The pair can be seen standing side by side amongst other cast members and crew in the scene, being shot on the corner of Kempson Road by Eel Brook Common.
The series, based on The Grantchester Mysteries, collections of short stories written by James Runcie is set some distance away in the 1950s Cambridgeshire village of Grantchester, near Cambridge.
However, this isn't the first time Grantchester has relocated to Fulham. For an earlier series, the production spent three months based at Fulham Town Hall, with the foyer and ground-floor rooms temporarily transformed into a traditional police station, complete with cells.
