Your Chance to Help Protect and Improve North End Road
Residents invited to meeting discussing way forward for shopping street
Local residents and businesses are invited to a public meeting being held on Wednesday September 17 to discuss how to protect and improve North End Road.
This will be the main topic at the next Policy and Accountability Committee, or PAC, for Economic Regeneration, Housing and the Arts, which is taking place on September 17 from 6.15pm at St Johns’ Church, Fulham SW6 1PB, near Vanston Place and North End Road.
Cllr Ben Coleman, who chairs the PAC, says: " One of the new council’s priorities is protecting and improving our high streets to attract more customers and strengthen the local economy. In Fulham, North End Road is at the top of our list."
North End Road has lost many familiar shops during the last year and has seen the number of stalls in the market steadily diminish.
However, this month it has been boosted by the arrival of Argos, which has opened a new "digital" store on the site of the former Sainsbury's convenience store.
Cllr Coleman says: " It’s a great street but it has too many empty shops.
" We can’t improve things on our own and we don’t want to. We think everyone – residents, business owners, stallholders, landlords and the council – needs to decide the way forward as a community.
" So please come and tell us what you think needs doing. Get involved in shaping what happens next."

The council’s new Policy and Accountability Committee (PACs), which anyone can attend, bring councillors together with residents and community groups to discuss and develop key council policies.
