Final instalment of Wagner's Ring at St John's Church
Fulham Opera, West London's premier independent opera company, will perform this exciting production on four days in November - Fridays and Sundays, November 8 and 10 and 15 and 17. The talk will be free to anyone with a ticket for the performance on the 17th.
Fulham Opera staged the first part of the Fulham Ring, Das Rheingold, in summer 2011, and admit it was something of a leap in the dark.
Cast with some of the finest emerging Wagnerians around – the company boasts several current and former Bayreuth Bursary finalists and prizewinners – this innovative staging with piano accompaniment was a success with both audience and critics, and Fulham Opera then decided they had to do a complete Ring.
They followed it up with Walkure in May 2012, and now the fourth and final part, Gotterdammerung is here, with the intriguing sub-title: In Wagner, it is never a good idea to accept drinks from strangers.
