Get up close and personal with archaeology over half term

Sun 21 October, 1pm-3pm - Hands-On Archaeology : Conserving Compton Community Dig

An opportunity to get up close and personal with archaeology at Fulham Palace, and learn more about the rich and varied history of this ancient site.

Each session explores a different theme and this time, it is looking at the Walled Garden Dig that started on October 15.


Come and visit the current archaeological excavation, talk to the archaeologists on site and see what they have found!

Wed 24 October, 11am-3pm - Family Activity Day: Astonishing Archaeology

Family Activity Day: Astonishing Archaeology

Discover the Roman and pre-historic history of the Palace, see the finds displays, dress up as a Roman at the pop-up costume booth, take part in ‘Ask the Archaeologist’ and uncover much more about Palace life in the past.

Free with no booking necessary. This event takes place in the Jessie Mylne Education Centre. N.B. Children must be accompanied by an adult

Thu 25 October, 2pm-2:30pm - Ask the Archaeologist – Conserving Compton Community Dig

Another opportunity during the Tree Pits excavation to ask a qualified archaeologist about what has been uncovered so far outside the Walled Garden and get hands-on with any artefacts. Free - no booking necessary.

Fri 26 October, 6.30pm-10pm -  Museums at Night : Tudor Treasure Hunt

Travel back in time to the Tudor Palace and discover a fantastical world of bishops and bedlam, queens and thieves. Solve the puzzles and riddles while exploring the Palace after dark. Experience the hilarious 'History Show Off', taster talks by the curator, live music in the Tudor Great Hall and a pop-up costume photo booth. Raise a glass of mead and join a merry night-time adventure.
