What's on in January at Fulham Palace


Tours, archaeology, embroidered postcard workshop and a chance to join the Pop-up Palace

Fulham Palace start the new year with history tours, archaeology sessions, an embroidered postcards workshop and the launch of a new Pop-up Palace. Palace Explorers, for two to four year old and their adults also continue every Monday and Tuesday.

Heres what's on this month:

Sunday 14 January, Tuesday 16 January, Sunday 28 January, 12.30pm - History Tour

History tours at Fulham Palace

Learn the secrets of Fulham Palace on this Historical Tour through the garden and public rooms of the Palace. £6 per person, accompanied children free, no booking necessary, meet in the Museum. Click here  for more information on tours.

Palace Explorers - Monday 15, 22 and 29 and Tuesday 16, 23 and 10 January, 9.30am-10.30am
These fun and creative facilitated sessions are geared specifically to 2-4 year olds and their adults. Each week offers the chance to explore and learn together through a specific theme, with arts and crafts, storytelling and dressing up, games, gardening, singing and whole host of other delights! £5 per child, Each session costs £5 per child, click here   to learn more and book.

Saturday 20 January, 10.30am-12.15pm - Young Archaeologists’ Club

The popular YAC sessions return for the Spring with sessions involving grain pits and Iron Age grub, a behind the scenes tour of the Museum of London and a chance to make replica medieval floor tiles!

Sunday 21 January, 12.30pm - Garden Walk
Join this tour of the Fulham Palace garden and discover more about its history and the rare plants grown at the Palace today. £6 per person, accompanied children free, no booking necessary, meet in the Museum. Click here  for more information on tours.

Sunday 21 January, 1pm-3pm - Hands-on Archaeology
An opportunity to get up close and personal with objects from the Fulham Pottery archive and learn more about its fascinating local history. This drop-in session is for archaeology enthusiasts of all ages!
Free and no booking necessary.

Tuesday 23 January, 6pm-7pm - Pop-up Palace Kickoff Meeting

Are you a young person aged 12+ and enthusiastic about art, design and heritage? This year, Fulham Palace are offering the fantastic opportunity to work towards achieving your silver arts award qualification (the equivalent to a GCSE) whilst taking part in a whole host of fun activities and days out during the school holidays - you’ll also create your own mini Palace for a travelling exhibition.

Free (subject to a refundable deposit of £50 upon completion of the course). No booking necessary for this open meeting and young people must be accompanied by an adult for this meeting only. The palace says there are only 15 spaces available, and priority will be given to those who attend the meeting.

Wednesday 24 January, 2pm-4pm - Embroidered Postcards Workshop

Fulham Palace's talented sewing bee experts guide you through this relaxed and creative workshop, introducing the techniques and flourishes needed to create a unique embroidered postcard. A range of designs will be available to choose from, all taking their inspiration from the beautiful surroundings of the Palace building and garden.
