What's On in March at Fulham Palace
Join a tour of the Fulham Palace gardens, home to an unusual variety of plants, many of which are historically important. £5 per person, no booking necessary, meet in the Museum.
Monday March 3 - 2pm - The Gardeners of Fulham Palace
An illustrated talk by Fulham Palace Curator, Miranda Poliakoff, on the gardeners who have worked at the palace over the centuries.
Learn more about the gardeners who helped give the gardens at Fulham Palace world prominence, such as Bishop Compton’s gardener, George London, who went on to found the nursery of London and Wise at Brompton.
This talk accompanies the current exhibition The famous and historic garden at Fulham Palace, on until April 23.

Learn the secrets of Fulham Palace on this Historical Tour through the grounds and public rooms of the Palace. £5 per person, no booking necessary, meet in the Museum.
Sunday March 16, 2pm -3.30pm - Museum drop-in
During this Tudor themed family drop-in, try on period costumes, handle artefacts and learn about the history of Fulham Palace. Free, no booking necessary. Children must be accompanied by an adult.
Wednesday March 19, 6pm - Horticultural Diplomacy: history and design of the landscape at Winfield House
Stephen Crisp, Head Gardener, talks about managing the gardens at Winfield House, official residence of the United States Ambassador to the United Kingdom.
Winfield House, set in 12 acres of grounds in Regent’s Park, is London’s second largest private garden after Buckingham Palace, and has been home to the Ambassadors since 1955.

Sunday March 30, 2.30pm - A walk around Fulham Moat
Join the Chairman of the Fulham and Hammersmith Historical Society, Keith Whitehouse, for this mile long walk around the Moat of Fulham Palace.
The ancient moat which encircled Fulham Palace, once the longest in England, was infilled in the 1920s. Keith Whitehouse directed the revealing first archaeological dig of 1972-73. A later dig financed by the Heritage Lottery Fund revealed the bridge and gothic arch at the entrance in Bishop’s Avenue.
Run by the Fulham and Hammersmith Historical Society.

Daily until April 23 - The famous and historic garden at Fulham Palace
An exhibition tracing the development of the garden at Fulham Palace, a residence of the Bishops of London for over a thousand years. The exhibits includes paintings, photographs and archaeological finds from the Museum’s collection, as well as items lent by Hammersmith and Fulham Archives and private collectors including Cranborne Antiques.
The exhibition is also looking forward to future plans for the garden as the Fulham Palace Trust develops the master plan for the site, one of the few unrestored landscapes along the Thames.
The exhibition runs till April 23 and is available to view during usual Museum opening hours, Saturday to Wednesday from 1pm – 4pm. Free admission.
