Fulham Horticultural Society Holds Autumn Show on Saturday


Show in St Ethelreda's hall open to members and non-members

Fulham Horticultural Society is holding its annual autumn show tomorrow, Saturday 9 September. from 2.30pm to 4.30pm, in the hall at St Etheldreda’s Church in Fulham Palace Road.

The show is open to members and non-members and the hall is set to be packed with flowers, vegetables, fruit, jams, cakes and handicrafts, plus a prize raffle.

There are more than 50 growing classes, from vegetables like beetroot, onions, beans and potatoes, to flowers, herbs and fruit, and the show also has categories for jam-making, scones, rich chocolate courgette cake, sticky pineapple and coconut cake, and even photography, Christmas cards and knitted scarves.

There are also classes for children aged under 16 with categories for vegetable men, Christmas cards and vases of leaves and berries.

Visitors will also be invited to enjoy tea and home-made cakes.

The society, set up in 1924, is open to all, and residents can enter the show if they plant and tend their gardens or allotments within a five-mile radius of Fulham Old Town Hall.
