Handel's Messiah and Hansel and Gretel
St John's Church is hosting two festive concerts on in the run-up to Christmas.
Here's what's on offer:
Saturday December 3, 7pm
The St John's Chamber Players and Singers present Parts I and II of Handel's Messiah, the favourite work for Christmastime.
Ben Woodward - conductor
with soloists: Alice Privett - soprano, Andrew O'Sullivan and Ann Morgan - alto
Alberto Sousa - tenor, and Robert Presley - baritone.

Saturday December 10, 6pm
Opera at Home present Hansel and Gretel, the fairy-tale opera by Humperdinck. The production benefits from translation by David Pountney and an original arrangement for chamber ensemble. The performance includes music dialogue in English, and all the magical creatures will sing in the original German.
Tickets on the door, £10 adults, £5 children
