Friends of South Park Hold Harvest and Hallowe'en Festival

Including fancy dress, pumpkin decorating, and a parade on Saturday afternoon

The Friends of South Park are holding a Harvest and Hallowe'en Festival in the park this Saturday, October 27.

Activities at the festival will include a fancy dress competition. face painting and dance sessions organised by Cupcake. There will also be a Hallowe'en themed photo booth and the Friends of South Park will host their own arts and crafts activities with pumpkin decorating classes.

The afternoon will end with everyone taking part in a parade around South Park at 5pm.

The festival is being sponsored by local estate agent Haus Properties, who will be fundraising on behalf of The Octavia Appeal for The Friends of Royal Brompton Hospital.

The Octavia Appeal raises money for The Friends of Royal Brompton Hospital, which exists to support the work of the largest specialist heart and lung centre in the UK.

All donations go directly to fund projects in the paediatric intensive care and paediatric ward which fall outside their statutory funding.

Jamie Lester, Head of Haus Properties says: " It goes without saying that The Octavia Appeal is a very worthy cause, and it’s a real honour to be fundraising for them on what’s set to be a fantastic, fun-filled event.

"The parade will be very family-orientated (in honour of the work Royal Brompton hospital do for young families), and we’re encouraging all local schools and nurseries in the area to get involved."

Lynda Mackie, Director and Founder of The Octavia Appeal, adds: " I have first-hand experience of spending time with a child in PICU (intensive care). This appeal is our way of giving something meaningful back to this great hospital which has saved so many lives and, unlike many charity appeals, we guarantee that all money raised goes directly towards the chosen projects and items needed without the deduction of admin charges."
