Sands End Centre Hosts Halloween Pumpkin Competition

Sands End Arts and Community Centre is celebrating Halloween with a day dedicated to pumpkins.

On Thursday 31 October, the centre is hosting a pumpkin carving workshop, with prizes for the best creations and the best Halloween costumes.

Anyone who has already carved a splendid pumpkin at home can instead bring it along and add it to the competition.

A fee of £5 guarantees you a pumpkin and carving equipment or you can bring your own along for free.

The Halloween pumpkinfest, which is open to all ages, takes place from 10.30am till 6.30pm with prizes for the best creations and best costumes announced at 6pm.

Seasonal events continue in November, with Diwali Lantern Making on 1 November. This free craft making session takes place in the centre’s Walnut Tree Cafe from 10.30am till 5.3pm and everyone is invited to drop in and get crafty.

5 November is Bonfire Night and the centre is hosting a family friendly celebration from 3pm till 8pm. Expect Guy Fawkes making, water free apple bobbing in the Walnut Grove, firework painting and more, and food ,drinks and sparklers will be available to buy.
