Free event tells you all you need to know about planting bulbs

The free session, being held at 11am on Thursday September 20 at Fulham Palace Garden Centre in Bishops Avenue, will offer gardeners receive advice on planting tulips, daffodils, hyacinths and crocuses and other less well-known bulbs, to create visually impressive displays that last throughout spring.

Chris Webb, Business Manager at The Prince’s Trust Fulham Palace Garden Centre says: “Bulbs need to go into the ground during the autumn, before the ground becomes too cold. During our workshop we will share our top tips for ensuring that your bulbs flower well.

"We’ll also discuss tricks to prevent squirrels, mice and voles from digging out the bulbs!"

The session will last one hour and there is no need to book - just drop in on the day.

All profits from Fulham Palace Garden Centre go to The Prince’s Trust to help change young lives. The youth charity helps disadvantaged young people to get their lives on track and supports 13 to 30 year-olds who are unemployed and those struggling at school and at risk of exclusion.

The garden centre is also supported by the Fulham based Fairbridge Garden Society. Members organise a variety of trips and events throughout the year as well as raising money for The Prince’s Trust.
