Chelsea stars kick off Christmas celebrations on Broadway
Fulham's Christmas celebrations will kick off in style on Friday, November 26, when Chelsea football stars Paolo Ferreira, Branislav Ivanovic and Ramires switch on the lights at Fulham Broadway.
The big switch-on will take place between 5.15pm and 5.45 pm, with the help of H & F Mayor, Cllr Adronie Alford.
The lights will be switched on during a party taking place in Fulham Broadway from 3.30pm to 6.30pm, which will include a live performance from X Factor star John Adeleye, carols from London Oratory School and Fulham Cross Girls School, children's entertainment, Santa and more.
John Adeleye will also be signing autographs during the afternoon.
Tribute Band Take That 2 and the cast of Fulham's very own panto, Beauty and the Bust will be the stars of the Town Centre Christmas lights party on Friday, December 3. Other entertainment will include Fulham Brass Band, a gift market and food hall, Aquabatics Water Fountain, Santa's Grotto and much more.
The event lasts from 3.30pm till 7.30pm with lights switched on by Deputy Mayor Cllr Frances Stainton at 6pm.
On Saturday, December 4, there is a village Christmas Fair and Market on Parsons Green, which is presented by Pippa Popins Nursery Schools and is in aid of two children’s charities - the WellChild Charity and the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit at The Chelsea and Westminster Hospital.
The fair is open from 11am till 5pm and includes live reindeer found grazing in Father Christmas’s Winter Wonderland, next to a Galloping-Horses Carousel. There are a Stilt-Walking Jack Frost and Snow, a festive Punch & Judy and Face-Painters will keep little ones entertained, as well as a large selection of stalls. At dusk, the day ends with a magical candlelit carol service around the Christmas tree, accompanied by The Fulham Brass Band.
Christmas isn't Christmas without a panto, and from Tuesday, December 7 adult panto Beauty and the Bust comes to Fulham Town Hall, with amateur dramatic pantomime specialists Backend Productions promising a raucous evening complete with cheesy tunes, terrible gags and saucy innuendo. And it is all in aid of four charities - Help for Heroes, The Community Sports Foundation, Diabetes UK and The Royal Star and Garter Home.
Beauty and the Bust runs from December 7 until December 11 at 7.30pm each evening with an additional children's matinee on December 11 at 3pm. For more information and to book tickets visit Backend Productions.
On Thursday, December 9 from 3.30pm there are Carols at Normand Park, along with children's Christmas crafts, a wreath making workshop, face painting, festive performances and of course Santa.
And that's not all that is on offer in Fulham this festive season. Fulham Palace has a puppet show, decorations workshop, jazz and carol concerts and a visit from Father Christmas, there are events for children at Fulham Library and schools and churches across SW6 are holding Christmas fairs.
We'll l bring you daily updates on all the seasonal events in our calendar section.
