Daniel buys third multi-million property in New York
Actor Daniel Radcliff is going from Harry Potter to property mogul, with the purchase of a third multi-million pound home in New York.
The 20 year-old has just bought a townhouse in Manhattan's West Village for £3.76 million.
This means the canny star's Manhattan portfolio is now worth around £10 million, as he already owns a fifth floor apartment in the trendy SoHo district, and an 11th condo apartment in the West Village with views over the Hudson River.
Daniel paid just over £3 million for each of those apartments in 2007, and now rents them out.
Daniel, who was born in Fulham, also has his own flat in SW6 close to his parents' Alan and Marcia's home, and when not working, can still be spotted in bars and restaurants on Kings Road.
However, after he has finished filming the final Harry Potter film, Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows, he is hoping to head for Broadway to star in the musical How to Success in Business Without Trying.
Daniel is said to have fallen in love with Manhattan last time he appeared on Broadway in the play Equus.
This time, he will be able to bring his family. His new townhouse has five bedrooms, four bathrooms and a separate apartment on the ground floor.
The brochure from estate agent Sotheby's says: " This lovingly renovated townhouse is one of three adjoining homes built by a sea captain in 1847 for his three daughters.
" The property is on one of New York’s most picturesque tree-lined landmark cobblestone blocks, West 12th Street, between Greenwich and Washington Streets.
" The 18 plus-foot-wide house faces South, and is soaked in sunlight throughout the day. The sizeable open garden and backyard is cooled by beautiful old trees and landscaping."
