Part of North End Road to Be Closed Throughout October

Stretch south of Lillie shut for four weeks of flood repair works

Part of North End Road has been closed to allow Hammersmith & Fulham Council carry out repair works in North End Road to prevent localised flooding.

The work means that the road will be closed from Lillie Road to Sedlescombe Road throughout the month, with work scheduled to last for four weeks.

The council says local businesses and residents have been sent letters to tell them about the repairs and signs have been placed on local roads.

The works will run from 8am to 6pm on weekdays and from 8am to 1pm on Saturdays.

"We’re doing this work because residents have told us they’re concerned about how this stretch of road floods following heavy rain," says Cllr Wesley Harcourt, H&F Cabinet Member for Environment, Transport and Residents' "ervices. “We know this will inconvenience some residents so we’ll aim to get the work finished as quickly as possible."

Traffic is being diverted via Lillie Road, Munster Road and Dawes Road, with the following bus services will be on diversion during the works: 28, 391, N28.

Tfl says that services using Lillie Road and Dawes Road may also be delayed due to the diverted traffic. This includes the following routes: 211, 295, 74, 190, 424, 430, N74, N97, N11.

North End Road Market will be open as usual during the repairs.

Fans travelling to and from Chelsea FC home fixtures may be affected by the works. Chelsea has a home match on Wednesday 18 October, with a further fixture on Saturday 21. A third game is scheduled for Wednesday 25 October.
