Police are seeking a Good Samaritan who came to the help of a distressed woman on Putney Bridge on Tuesday 18 September.
Shortly after 1pm on 18 September, police were called to Putney Bridge after receiving reports of a woman standing on the wrong side of the barrier and threatening to jump.
Police say five courageous members of the public intervened and stayed with her until officers arrived.
The police have the details of most of these people at the time, but one man remains unknown to them. He climbed over the railings of the bridge and held onto this vulnerable woman until police arrived, risking his own life for hers.
His actions undoubtedly saved her life, and allowed the police valuable time to get to the scene, where they were able to offer her the medical care and support she needs.
The police would like to thank this man for his heroic actions, so if you know who he is, please get in touch by calling 101, quoting reference number CAD 3678/18SEP18
