North End Road Closed on Thursday by "Bomb Scare"

Suspicious object turned out to be forgotten toolbox

Fulham's main shopping street North End Road was closed for around an hour on Thursday afternoon by a scare over a suspicious object.

Police say they were called at around 3.20pm about the object and the road was closed off for around an hour, causing traffic chaos and buses to be diverted, while they investigated.

The object turned up to be a toolbox left behind by a workman, which police say was "non-suspicious".

But adds a Met Police spokesman: " We would always urge people to report anything they think is suspicious. It may cause disruption, but it is better to be safe than sorry."
