Local Police Team's Triathlon Triumph

Sands End Safer Neighbourhood Team race to raise funds for NSPCC

Four members of Sands End Safer Neighbourhood Team, Sergeant Mark Trower, Constable Sonny Mordin and Community Support Officers Richard Powers and Chris Watts have triumphed in the London Mazda Sprint Triathlon - and beaten their fund-raising target.

Says Mark: " We all took part in the Triathlon on Saturday 1st August and I am pleased to announce that we all successfully completed it - no paramedics required- in very respectable times. "

The Triathlon, which took place at ExCeL in Docklands consisted of a half mile swim, 21km bike ride and 5.2km run. The Sands End team ran to raise funds for the NSPCC, with a target of £2,000.

Mark says: " I am proud to announce that to date to we have managed to raise £2,100 for this very worthwhile charity, so a huge thank you to all that have supported us in our fund raising efforts and to those that have given us encouragement during our training."

You can help raise that total even higher and send messages of congratulations to the team at their Just Giving page.
