Trees and grass area under threat due to demolition of Hartopp and Lannoy Points
Trees on Pellant Road
A petition has been launched in an attempt to save an area of green space in Fulham.
Hartopp and Lannoy Points are due to be demolished due to structural safety concerns which residents say will also destroy the nearby green space on Pellant Road.
The area visible from Pellant Road, Prothero Road and Mendora Road is an open space that has been used by locals since it was built. It is a triangular grass area with some very tall mature trees.
Most of the trees are set to be removed despite no planning application being obtained to do so. Objectors claim that they found ‘ a convenient safety loophole’ to allow them to remove the trees.
The sponsor of the petition states, “After the local residents have endured months and months of demolition we will have years and years of building. We have been told that local residents will be able to give 'input and give feedback ' into the plans for the future build. Let us stand together in this.”
“Let us all join together in this petition and make it clear that we, the local residents, want our green space replaced. We want it replaced in the same footprint, with a proper replanting scheme which will stand the test of time. We want our green street back! We will also be campaigning for the existing trees to have tree protection orders placed upon them so they are not victim to any more unnecessary felling. “
