The Fulham Community Stretch Club, a grassroots wellbeing initiative founded by two local residents, is expanding its weekend programme after a surge in interest from the community.

The project, known as the Parsons Green Stretch Club, began earlier this summer as a single Sunday morning session offering gentle outdoor movement and social connection in the park. Following enthusiastic feedback and requests for more opportunities to join, the organisers have now introduced a new Saturday morning class at 8.30 am, alongside the existing Sunday session at 10 am.

While the Sunday gatherings remain relaxed and open to all abilities, the new Saturday class is designed for those seeking a deeper, more structured practice. Led by Maria Saukhina, a certified aerial fitness instructor and visual artist, the session focuses on flexibility, mobility and posture, and costs £10 per participant.

Saukhina co‑founded the club with Olga Regina, a visual artist and PR specialist. The pair first began informal weekend stretching sessions together before opening them to the wider community through local social media channels. Their instinct that Fulham residents would welcome a calm, inclusive alternative to traditional fitness environments proved correct — attendance has steadily grown, and the club now attracts a diverse mix of participants.

“From the beginning, we wanted to create something open and accessible,” the founders said. “As more people joined, it became clear there was real demand for regular outdoor stretching sessions. The new Saturday class is a direct response to requests from participants who wanted an additional session each weekend.”

The club’s community spirit has been central to its success. Participants describe the sessions as both energising and restorative, with one attendee calling her first visit “the best stretching session in London.”

Both classes take place outdoors in Parsons Green, with the exact meeting point shared via the club’s private WhatsApp group. Sunday sessions remain ideal for beginners, while Saturday mornings cater to those seeking a more progressive practice.

Anyone interested in joining can register through the club’s Instagram page, where organisers share updates and booking details.
