Fulham store closes as Lombok Goes into Administration

King's Road store shuts but clearance outlet stays open

The Lombok furniture chain has gone into administration, and nine of its stores, including local shops on King's Road in Fulham, Chiswick and Wimbledon, have closed down.

However, its clearance store in Fulham's Gasworks will remain open after being bought out of administration by Lombok's owner Angora, along with a store in Tottenham Court Road and another in Yorkshire. Its website will also continue trading.

A spokeswoman said a consultation on job losses was underway.

Established over ten years ago by Alex Cresswell-Turner, the name Lombok derives from an Indonesian island and their handmade furniture and homeware had a loyal following.

The Clearance Store, at Unit 2 in The Gasworks, 2 Michael Road, is open on Friday and Saturday from 10am till 5pm and Sunday from 11am till 5pm. Call 0207 751 8550 for more information.
