Discover hidden wonders at Fulham Library
How much do you know about Korea? This fascinating Asian country is the subject of a talk, consisting of a sequence of brief documentary films and a live narrative, taking place at Fulham Library's Exhibition Hall on May 29 from 2pm to 3.30pm.
The talk will cover Modern Korea, IT and Living - Korean's innovative IT industry and the move to a digital society; Construction - the secrets being someof the world's tallest buildings and the companies behing them; POSCO - how a country without financial or natural resources built a world-leading steel industry and Traditional Korea.
The talk will also look at these Korean works of art:
The Tripitaka Koreana - a library of 84,000 woodblocks containing the entire Buddhist canon
The Sarira Reliquary - a work of metal craftmanship designed to microsopic detail
Koryo Buddhist Paintings - art works known for their 'infinite labour' and vibrant colours.
There is no need to book in advance for this free event - all simply turn up on the day.
