Jimmy Bullard Back to His Roots in Fulham

Former Craven Cottage favourite signs for local decorating firm

Jimmy Bullard has made a shock return to his former trade and joined Shipps Building Services in Fulham on a one day loan deal, just days before the football transfer window closed.

Following a nationwide recruitment process, Jimmy joined the London based firm in a bid to refine his old skills and bring some of his unique flair to the homes of Britain.

The competition, which was set up in partnership with Armstead Trade paint, received bids across the UK for Jimmy to join a team of decorators on a one day loan. The former Craven Cottage favourite, who was a decorator at his father's firm for three years, has brushed up on his skills and bonded with his new team mates on the job in London.

Having played for a number of interesting managers over the years, Jimmy sought to bring his knowledge of team building tactics to the job, particularly the tea break pep talk. He even re-created his famous goal celebration, from his days at Hull City, much to amusement of his new team mates.

Speaking of his most recent signing, Bullard said: "The transfer window is an exciting time and it seems very fitting that I'm back on familiar turf in Fulham. The team at Shipps has shown some great team talent and it's been a pleasure to spend the day back on the brush.

"The banter has been top notch and the guys here have made a smart choice signing me for the day. I've managed to pull off a winning finish using Armstead Trade's Quick Dry Gloss - a tradesman never forgets the basics!"
