Michael Jackson Statue Told to Beat It

Club to return pop star tribute to former owner

A mixed reaction from local residents is expected to greet the news that a Fulham landmark is set to disappear.

The Fulham FC have confirmed that the statue of Michael Jackson behind the Hammersmith Stand is to be given back to Mohamed Al Fayed.

The statue was erected in 2011 by Al Fayed who claimed that Michael Jackson was a dedicated Fulham fan. He did indeed attend one game back in the late nineties but was not seen at Craven Cottage again prior to his death.

Fulham FC was sold to new owner Shahid Khan for £150m earlier this year and the club now say that the statue isn't in keeping with their plans for the ground.
