Swine Flu Update: Three Collection Points in SW6

Symptoms be assessed online or by phone

Two more local chemists have been added to the list of antiviral collection points in Fulham.

As well as Boots in Fulham Broadway shopping centre, prescribed antiviral medication can also be collected from CE Harrod Chemist at 207 New Kings Road and Palace Pharmacy at 331 Fulham Palace Road.

Anyone who feels unwell and thinks they might have swine flu can visit the website of the National Pandemic Flu Service for an online assessment or call the free information line on 0800 1 513 513.

If required, the service provide an authorisation number that can be used by a "flu friend" -  a friend or relative who does not have the virus - to collect the medicine.

The system, which can also be accessed by telephone, is designed to take the strain off GPs as swine flu spreads.

The latest swine flu advice is as follows:

If you have flu-like symptoms and are concerned that you may have swine flu, stay at home and check your symptoms at the National Pandemic Flu Service.

You should call your GP directly if:
- you have a serious underlying illness
- you are pregnant
- you have a sick child under one year old
- your condition suddenly gets much worse
- your condition is still getting worse after seven days (five for a child)
