Guns Found at House where Man Died

Winchendon Road death "suicide or tragic accident"

Four guns and ammunition have been found by police at a house in Winchendon Road where a man died from a gunshot wound.

Police were called to the house in Parsons Green  on Monday April 15 at around 5.30pm after neighbours reported hearing a gun shot.

The body of a 55-year-old man was discovered inside his house.

Enquiries are ongoing but police say the death is not suspicious and it is thought the man died as a result of suicide or a tragic accident.

During a search of the house, police found an arsenal of four guns and ammunition, all of which were licenced to the dead man.

Chief inspector Rod Charles said: "This is a very serious incident with a tragic outcome. However it is confined to a single residential address.

"At this time there is no evidence indicating third party involvement or crime. There is no known risk to neighbours or the wider community."

The Coroner has been informed and an inquest will be held in due course.
