Dies in hospital after blaze in Wandon Road on Saturday evening

A woman has died after being caught in a fire in Wandon Road, Fulham on Saturday evening (2 July).

The fire broke out on the ground floor of the terraced property. It was out by the time the Fire Brigade arrived and a man and woman were taken to hospital where the woman later died.

Two fire engines and 14 firefighters and officers were called at 6.15pm and the incident was over by 6.32pm.

Crews from Fulham and Battersea fire stations attended the scene.

The cause of the fire is under investigation.
