Fire Brigade Called to Blaze on Fulham Road

Four fire engines and 20 firefighters stop spread of flames

Four fire engines and around 20 firefighters from Fulham, Chelsea, Hammersmith and Wandsworth were called to a flat fire on Fulham Road on Sunday evening.

London Fire Brigade says that part of the third floor flat was damaged by a fire, believed to be accidental and to have started in the kitchen.

Fire crews were able to stop the fire from spreading to surrounding rooms and property.

A man and two women left the flat before the firefighters arrived. Another seven people from surrounding flats also left the building before firefighters attended.

The Brigade says it was called at 7.45pm and the fire was under control by 8.30pm.

The cause of the fire is under investigation.
