A man has been charged with the murder of 39-year-old Xiaoqing Ke, who was found stabbed to death at a property on Old Brompton Road, Earls Court, on 10 December. Police confirmed that Deepak Sandhu, 23, of Southampton, has been remanded in custody and will appear at Westminster Magistrates’ Court today.
Officers were called to the scene at 11:15am following to concerns for the welfare of a woman. Inside the property, they found Xiaoqing Ke, a Chinese national, fatally injured.
A post-mortem confirmed she died from stab wounds.
Mr Sandhu has been charged with murder and remanded in custody. A second man, aged 47, was arrested but later released on bail pending further enquiries.
Detective Chief Inspector Wayne Jolley said, “Our thoughts remain with Xiaoqing’s family at this incredibly difficult time. While a man has now been charged, our investigation continues, and we urge anyone with information who has not yet spoken to us to come forward.”
Xiaoqing Ke’s family, who live in China, have been informed and are being supported by specialist officers.
Anyone with information is asked to call police on 101, quoting CAD 2689/10DEC25. Information can also be given anonymously through Crimestoppers on 0800 111 555.
