Peabody Estate had been blighted for 18 months
On Thursday 23rd September officers from Team 3, Fulham Broadway Safer Neighbourhoods Team closed a crack house that had been blighting the for 18 months.
Police say that local officers worked closely with the Peabody over a protracted period whereby two warrants under the Section 23 Misuse of Drugs Act were executed along the estate.
On September 23, officer from Team 3 of the Fullham Broadway Safer Neighbourhoods Team carried out a raid, during which the officers discovered a number of local convicted class A drug users were using the address.
These users were supplying the occupant with drugs in return for him allowing them to use his premises for the consumption of drugs.
A quantity of class A and B drugs, numerous items of paraphernalia and items of stolen property were seized from the premises, thought there were no arrests.
Sergeant Steve Lemon from Fulham Broadway Safer Neighbourhoods Team says: " This is an excellent result for the local residents who I would like to thank for their support during our investigations, without which the closure would not have been possible.
" I would also like to recognise the hard work of PC Jemma Webb and Miss Laura England of the Peabody, both worked together meticulously to collate all the evidence."
Laura England, Peabody Community Safety Team Officer says: " The closure has had an immediate effect. Residents of Peabody's Fulham estate can now feel safer and go about their lives without fear.
" We're committed to working with Safer Neighbourhood teams across the borough and with the local authority to ensure such premises, which can cause so much damage to communities, are closed down as quickly as possible."
