73 year old man may have disturbed an intruder in Hazlebury Road
An elderly man has been murdered in his home in Hazlebury Road, Fulham. Joseph Griffiths, aged 73, was stabbed to death in the early hours of Saturday morning (10th November).
While officers retain an open mind as to the motive, one line of inquiry is that it appears Mr Griffiths disturbed an intruder.
He was a married man with two grown up sons.
Police were called to reports of a burglary at the address and arrived to find Mr. Griffiths had been the subject of a violent attack. He was pronounced dead at the scene following the arrival of the emergency services.
There were other people in the house at the time but none of them were injured.
Police have carried out initial house to house inquiries and are in the process of forensically examining the scene.
There have been no arrests at this stage and enquiries continue. The police say that they are keeping and open mind as to the motive at this very early stage.
Officers from the Homicide and Serious Crime Command are investigating.
