Crash Courses for Drivers and Passengers

Event show dangers of not wearing a seatbelt

Hammersmith & Fulham Council is holding events around the borough to the dangers of not wearing a seatbelt.

In a bid to reduce the numbers of people killed or seriously injured on the roads, the council will be asking residents to have a go in a car crash simulator in town centres. The road safety team will also be on hand to offer information and advice throughout the days.

The events will be begin at 10am and finish at 3pm, and will be held at:

Monday August 10 – Jerdan Place, Fulham, SW6
Wednesday August 12 – outside Shepherds Bush Central Line station, W12
Friday August 14 – Lyric Square, King Street, Hammersmith, W6

During the same week, the police will be targetting drivers and passengers not wearing seatbelts – an offence which carries a £60 fine. The fixed penalty notice for failing to wear a seatbelt increased from £30 to £60 this June.
