Kings Road Closed Overnight after Stabbing Attack

One arrest made while victim is in serious condition

Kings Road, at the end of Edith Grove on the borders of Fulham and Chelsea, was closed in both directions overnight after a young man was stabbed and seriously injured.

The road has now reopened, and the victim, a man in his mid twenties is in a serious condition in hospital.

Police say emergency services were called just after 3am to Kings Road, where they found a man suffering from stab wounds close to the junction with Shalcombe Street.

It is believed that he was attacked in a nearby residential property.

He was taken by ambulance to a central London hospital, where he remains in a serious condition.

Kings Road was cordoned off by police for around four hours, but has now been reopened.

One man has been arrested in connection with the incident.

This latest stabbing comes in the same week a boy of 14 was stabbed in Hammersmith Bus Station, and five teenagers were convicted of killing Fulham schoolboy Sofyen Belamouadden, who died after a stabbing attack involving at least 20 people in Victoria Station in March last year.

The scene of this latest attack is close to the World's End Estate, which has had previous problems with knife and gun attacks, and two knife surrender bins have been placed on Kings Road by police in an attempt to reduce serious violence.
