Local charity's success comes in its 50th anniversary year
Local charity Fulham Good Neighbours has been shortlisted for a Community Partnership Award in the upcoming Lord Mayor's Dragon Awards.
These annual awards aim to recognise and celebrate organisations making an exemplary impact in London's communitie and inspire others to get involved in their communities, ultimately leading to a more inclusive and sustainable London.
Fulham Good Neighbours, based at Fulham's Rosaline Hall in Rosaline Road was recognised for its work with Assael Architects, a local firm who have been supporting the charity's gardening and decorating project for over two years.
Fulham Good Neighbours runs a dedicated gardening and decorating service along with running errands and social clubs for local older people and says Assael staff have been generously volunteering their time and their support allowed the charity to reach many more people.
Good Neighbours' director Krzysztof Mikata-Pralat says: " We are really thrilled to be shortlisted as it shows that also small charities, like ours, with less than 100k in average annual turnover can make a real and positive difference and that we can compete against big city firms.
" What is equally important, is that the nomination comes in our 50th anniversary year.
" It is one more reason for us to celebrate during our Birthday Event on 29th September 2016 which will be held at the Community Hall of Sir Oswald Stoll Foundation."
The current Lord Mayor is Alderman Jeffrey Mountevans and he will present awards to the winners at a Mansion House gala dinner on the 27th September 2016.
Krzysztof adds: " We are always looking for more people to help and more helpers, so if there are any people out there who are yet to get in touch we would love to hear from them."
